Gaming laptop MSI Pulse GL66 12UEK
In today’s gaming laptop market, more and more interesting offers appear every year, and in connection with this, competition is growing. And now they often pay attention not even to the most eminent manufacturers, because the cost is most often an order of magnitude lower. And in the domestic market, MSI deserves special attention now.
Separately, it is worth highlighting the Pulse GL66 12UEK model, which you need to study and understand if it is worth your attention.
Configuration and equipment
It should be noted right away that this is a budget option, and this can be seen at least from low-capacity DDR4-3200 RAM. And some ports are missing, meaning the manufacturer has compromised in order to make the cost more affordable.
Upon unpacking, the ergonomic approach is immediately visible, although this is reflected even in the pack itself, made of recycled paper and without a plastic carrying handle. Inside there is a simple cardboard box containing the cable and power adapter.
Design
On the cover of the device you can see the company logo, this is a dragon on a shield. In fact, the design is pleasant and not conspicuous, although some may consider this a disadvantage.
As for the screen, its size is 15.6 inches, which is pretty good. But this means that the device cannot be completely compact. Yes, and this is not a particularly subtle development, but if it is playable, how important is it?
The lid is made of metal and has a grey-black matte surface. And therefore, there are practically no traces left, and removing them will not be a problem. Everything is made solidly and massively, reliably and firmly.
There are ventilation holes on the bottom of the laptop, there are several of them, so there are no particular problems with overheating. Speakers and slots for sound output are installed near the front supports.
There are additional grilles on the sides through which hot air escapes, and there are also several USB and HDMI ports.
Display
As already mentioned, this is a laptop with a 15.6-inch display with an IPS matrix and a resolution of 1920×1080, and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. For gaming applications, this is a good indicator.
The keyboard here is installed of a membrane type, however, when compared with the classic version, the location here is not quite familiar. But as an addition, there is a backlight with 5 brightness levels, so you can switch between options or turn off this feature altogether.
And here there is not a standard touchpad, but a clickpad, where there are no dedicated buttons. When pressed, a click is heard and everything is accompanied by a response.
Performance
The speed of work is quite good, but if we take the closest competitors, then there is a noticeable lag. But if we take games, which is what this device serves for, then the indicators correspond to the standard and are also not bad.
In real applications, speed and performance issues should not even be approached, everything corresponds to expectations. But there are some questions to the SSD, I would like the work to be faster. For its price, the model is quite worthy.
