Review of the smartphone Honor X8a

Not so long ago, another update came out – Honor X8a, which is the middle model of the new series. This is a mid-range device with good performance.

Design and Usability

The smartphone comes in a hard case made of cardboard in a simple and minimalist style. The package is as follows:

As for the case, it looks to be in a design that quickly became quite popular and doesn’t have tapered sides or curved panels. Everything looks extremely simple, but at the same time cool. Holds confidently in the hand.

It is worth noting that factory glass protection is not the best, so you should immediately purchase some high-quality analogue on which prints will not be so visible.

Case material – plastic, both the back and the side frame are also made of this material. But this does not affect the appearance. Everything looks strict and serious, but interesting at the same time. On the matte surface, there are practically no traces of use.

In terms of dimensions, it is larger than others, however, this does not affect the mass in any way. And fits in your pocket without any problems. In fact, design is the first strength of this model.

The cameras, as is usual for modern devices, stick out a little, so it does not lie quite confidently on the back.

Screen

The model has an IPS-display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, and a resolution of 1080×2388 with a pixel density of 391 ppi. Refresh rate 90 Hz.

Camera

It should be noted right away that Honor X8a has 4 circles at once, but in fact only 3 cameras, and each next one is more modest. The simplest module has 5 megapixels, and for macro photography there is a 2 megapixel module. On the main camera, the smartphone shoots at 100 megapixels and f / 1.9 lens. But there is no stabilizer.

The main camera actually shoots quite well and does not allow overexposure. But sometimes the forces are simply not enough for the darkest areas. There are questions about color reproduction, because sometimes everything does not look completely natural.

In fact, this is a budget level of shooting, which corresponds to a smartphone. And pay attention to the declared 100 megapixels is simply not worth it.

Night mode also has problems.

Performance

The device runs on SoC Mediatek Helio G88, where there is an 8-core processor. The RAM is 6 GB and the storage is 128 GB. And there is no way to put a memory card.

The installed platform is budget, but has a graphics accelerator. And even taking this into account, this model is not the best for games. This solution is better for work or organizational needs, but not for multimedia.

Offline work

To date, the battery capacity is reduced, only 4500 mAh, so the results are not quite high, but satisfactory. For example, in the case of games, the device works a little more than 6 hours, and when reading, 18 hours. It takes almost 2 hours to fully charge.
